Vijaykanth's Virudhagiri is Ready

In the midst of his demanding schedules in the political arena, veteran Tamil actor ‘Captain’ Vijayakanth has started his next film Virudhagiri directed by Vijayakanth himself and produced by L.K. Sudeesh under the banner of Captain Cine Creations. The film also has Madhuri Idaki, Shankar, Arun Pandian, Mansoor Ali Khan and Peeli Sivam in prominent roles.

The film is now ready and will reportedly grace theatres on December10. Virudhagiri is expected to be an Indianised version of the Hollywood movie Taken. Sundar C. Babu scores the music.

Viruthagiri audio launch

The audio CD of the film Viruthagiri which has Vijayakanth in the lead role was released yesterday. Vijayakanth is for the first time directing this film. This film is being produced under the banner Captain Cine Creations.

Speaking on this occasion Vijayakanth said,” Many of the members of the film fraternity have come over here to extend their greetings and wishes to me. I gave the first song of my film to Poet Vaali. I love his songs.

I have shot 25% of this film in Chennai and another 25% of the film in foreign locations. I had encountered numerous problems while making this film. Earlier also I had faced lots of problems to release my films Dharmapuri, Swadeshi and Sabari.

Everybody knows the status of the Samathavapuram project which was started in the name of Thanthai Periyar. People who say that their voice is for the neglected have neglected many. There is news that houses at the cost of Rs 59 Lakhs has been provided to the poor free of cost.

But this people who had come to power in the year 1967 are still not able to eradicate poverty. They are telling that Vijayakanth is not commenting on Congress or AIDMK and because of this I will have alliance with them. I have nothing to fear. I said that I will eradicate poverty. That means that I will increase the revenue of each individual. Show me the people who were benefitted from the beggar’s eradication scheme and eye camps. I will speak the truth everywhere. They are preventing the release of my film Viruthagiri. Wait and see that how I will release the film.”

DMDK member Panrutti Ramachandran, actor Sathyaraj, directors R K Selvamani, Lingusamy, Ezhlil and other DMDK party members were present on this occasion.

Thailand hero is the villain of Viruthagiri

L K Satish is producing a film titled Viruthagiri under the banner Captain Cine Creations. This film has Vijayakanth, Madhuri Iddakki, Arun Pandian, Meenakshi Dixit and Mansoor Ali Khan in the cast. Vijayakanth has written the story, screenplay and dialogues.

He is also directing the film. L K Satish while speaking to the media said,” This is Vijayakanth’s 154th film. Vijayakanth’s is donning the role of an IPS officer. There is no pair for him in this film. Mumbai K C Shankar, Amandeep Singh and Bangkok Gaasu are the villains of this film.

The Bangkok actor is a hero there. The fighting scenes featuring Vijayakanth were shot in Bangkok. This Bangkok hero approached us for a role in this film. His scenes have come out well. The stunt scenes were also shot in Australia and Malaysia.

Stunt actors of those countries have acted in this film. A hair raising car chase was shot in the Bangkok streets. Rocky Ramesh and Kacha have trained the stunt men for this sequence. The songs composed by Sundar C Babu have come out well. The audio launch of this film is to take place on 22nd at the Trade Centre in Nandambakkam.”
